End User License Agreement (EULA) & Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 2026
By downloading, installing, or using the Shrink Wizard software ("Software"), you agree to be bound by the terms of this End User License Agreement ("Agreement").
1. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
This is the most critical section of this agreement.
CRITICAL WARNING CONCERNING DATA LOSS: Shrink Wizard alters your files in-place on your storage drive to reclaim space. While the algorithms used (e.g., Transparent File Compression, Image Transcoding) are strictly lossless by design, unexpected events during processing operations—such as a power outage, operating system crash, hardware failure, or unexpected filesystem interruptions—can result in irreversible data corruption.
BACKUPS ARE YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY. By using this Software, you explicitly agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of any data processed. Under no circumstances shall the author(s), developers, or distributors of Shrink Wizard be held liable for any data loss, corruption of files, system instability, or direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use this Software.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
2. License Grant
The "Free Tier" of Shrink Wizard grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software for personal or commercial purposes, subject to a metered bandwidth limitation (currently 5GB of cumulative space saved). Upon reaching this limit, certain features will be metered or throttled.
Purchasing a "Pro" license key grants you the right to unlock and use the unthrottled version of the Software indefinitely. Licenses are intended for the purchaser and may be node-locked or validated via hardware fingerprints.
3. Reverse Engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the proprietary licensing or telemetry components of the Software.
4. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the author resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
